Joomla FAQ’s Page
Q: Can I purchase a Joomla template before I install my Joomla database?
A: We do not recommend doing this. For your own benefit we actually recommend that all our customers have Joomla pre-installed on your server. It is also very helpful to have a basic, working knowledge of the Joomla infrastructure itself. For our 1.5 Joomla templates please locate the latest version of 1.5 Joomla install.
Q: Is there a return policy?
A: Because our templates are intangible products they are non-refundable. This is our policy, as with the vast majority of companies selling intangible products online, because there really is no way to ensure a product is really “returned”. It is also important to note that we cannot take responsibility for a customer's lack of Joomla knowledge. In other words, we don’t offer refunds simply because someone doesn’t understand how to use Joomla. That’s why it’s important you have the appropriate prerequisite knowledge and the required software (graphic program for editing your logo) to make use of these templates. In rare situations, when its clear that a template defect is at fault, we do offer a refund/exchange policy.
Q: How do I get my template once I purchase?
A: For single purchases your download link will be sent to the email you used to purchase with. If you do not receive your download via email within 15 minutes after purchase please contact us. In this case please provide a working phone number in case we are unable to deliver to your email, and an alternate email, if available.
Q: Does my Joomla template purchase include instructions on how to install and set up the template?
A: Yes, a comprehensive, template-install instruction file, along with helpful screen shots to aid in setting up your Joomla modules etc, is included with your template purchase. Please Note: Our instructions do not include instructions on how to install the actual Joomla database itself. Please see the main Joomla site for this information.
Q: Does the template I purchase come with all the web pages, links, and content I see on the live demo?
A: No. Because this is a database driven template you will have to generate your own web pages, content, links, etc. We provide the live preview of a finished site in order to demonstrate the potential of the template, working with the Joomla database. Please be advised we do not provide or have SQL dumps available. It is up to the user to develop/edit their own database environment.
Q: What software do I need to use Joomla?
A: You will need to install the latest 1.5x version of the Joomla database to your server. In addition, you will need Adobe Photoshop CS for editing PSD files such as your logo, and other misc. graphics that come with your template.
Q: Do I need an HTML editor for Joomla?
A: No. For the most part you can edit your index.php and CSS files within the Joomla admin. However, if you choose to use an HTML editor when making modifications to those files, you can use any PHP editor, such as Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression Web.
Q: What kind of support will I receive with my Joomla template?
A: You will receive basic support regarding the initial setup of your Joomla template. This includes support in finding the relevant modules, and other misc. items that are featured in our live Joomla template demos.
Our Joomla templates support does NOT cover the following:
* Installing your Joomla infrastructure for you, or giving guidance on how to.
* Installing or trouble-shooting 3rd party extensions that did not come with your Joomla purchase.
* Guidance on how to set up your Joomla content, pages, links, and images, or troubleshooting errors or problems within your actual Joomla infrastructure. In such cases, we recommend that you utilize the Joomla forums http://forum.joomla.org/, and/or locate the appropriate Joomla manual as needed. As a general rule we provide support for the template itself, but not the inner-workings of the Joomla database.
Q: If I purchase a 1.5 Joomla template, will it work in a Joomla 1x version install?
A: No. A 1.5 Joomla template is only compatible with a 1.5 Joomla infrastructure environment.
Q: I purchased a 1.5 Joomla template and have found that I do not have the same populated module list as what you show in your template instructions. What’s the problem?
A: By default, when you do not install the “sample data” during the installation process then Joomla! 1.5 manual installations come only with “Main Menu”.
Q: Are these themes cross-browser compatible?
A: We do develop and test templates across browsers to make sure they function correctly in all major browsers. This includes Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari and others. Please note that, along with many other major web-based product companies, while we do support Internet Explorer 7 and 8, we no longer support IE 6 (as of Jan 1st 2011). This is because IE 6 is well known to be an archaic browser that renders many web functions incorrectly, and others not at all. If you or someone you know is in the small minority of people still using IE 6, we strongly encourage you to join the modern age and upgrade to a more recent version of Internet Explorer - which has really improved its performance and compatibility over its more recent versions.
